Weather to remain cloudy with gusty winds, thunderstorms at some places

Low-lying areas of Sindh feared to be flooded: Heavy rain likely to cause flooding in streams, rivers of KP, Balochistan: There’s also risk of landsliding in mountainous areas

Weather in most parts of the country is likely to remain cloudy with gusty winds and thunderstorms at some places, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for the low-lying areas of Sindh that are feared to be flooded by the heavy rains expected between August 11 and 13.

Moreover, the heavy rains expected in some districts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to cause flooding in the local streams and rivers.

Islamabad Weather

Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy. It is also likely to experience strong winds and thundershowers in the morning, according to the Meteorological Department.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather

In most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers at some places, the Meteorological Department said.

Heavy rain is also expected at some places in Lakki Marwat, Tank, Bannu, Kurram, Orakzai, Hangu, Karak and Waziristan.

Punjab Weather

Some districts of Punjab including Bhakkar, Layyah, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Rahim Yar Khan are likely to receive rain with strong winds and thundershowers, the Meteorological Department said.

Sindh Weather

There is a possibility of thundershowers at some places in Sindh, according to the Meteorological Department.

Heavy rain is also expected in some districts including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Badin, Sujawal, Thatta, Dadu, Hyderabad and Karachi.

Balochistan Weather

In most districts of Balochistan, weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers at some places, the Meteorological Department said.

Heavy rain is also expected at some places in Barkhan, Sibi, Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad, Kohlu, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur, Kech and Makran Coast.

AJK & GB Weather

Some places in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are likely to experience rain with gusty winds and thundershowers.

Flood & Landslide Warning

Due to heavy rain between August 11 and 13, the low-lying areas in Karachi, Thattha, Badin, Hyderabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpur Khas are feared to be flooded, the Meteorological Department said.

There is a risk of flooding in Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhail, Sherani, Sibi, Bolan, Kalat and local rivers of Balochistan.

Also, there is a risk of flooding in rainfed and local streams of Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Turbat, Panjgur, Pasni, Jiwani, Kohat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Waziristan and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Moreover, there is a risk of landslides in the mountainous areas of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galyat, Murree, Chilas, Diamer, Gilgit, Hunza, Astore and Skardu.
