In an important development, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore on Monday filed an application in an accountability court (AC), requesting it to close the reference filed against the former Punjab University vice-chancellor (VC) Dr. Mujahid Kamran and others on corruption charges, saying it wanted to withdraw it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Besides Kamran, others who were nominated in the reference were Dr. Khan Raas, Deeba Akthar, Dr. Hassan Mubeen and others.
In its application, the NAB said it had gone through the case and reached the conclusion that there existed no proof against the suspects. “Therefore, in the light of that, it is prayed to the court to accept the request for the withdrawal of the reference.”
