The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will release the active taxpayers list on March 1.
The names of those who have not filed income tax returns for the financial year 2023 will be removed from the list and all tax exemptions and benefits to inactive persons will be abolished.
Non-filers will have to pay a 7% withholding tax instead of 2% on disposal of properties and the persons not on the list will also have to pay additional withholding tax for vehicle registration and change of ownership.
