Son of senior PPP leader Khurshid Shah while complying with the Supreme Court orders surrendered himself in a court in Sukkur on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Farrukh Shah, a member of the Sindh Assembly, surrendered before the third additional session judge as the accountability court judge was on leave.
The additional session judge summoned officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and adjourned the hearing.
After the break, the judge handed over Farrukh Shah to the NAB team, which took him to its office
The NAB team will quiz Farrukh Shah regarding assets beyond means case.
On Wednesday last, Farrukh Shah withdrew his pre-arrest bail application from the Supreme Court. Following that, the Supreme Court ordered Farrukh Shah to surrender before the accountability court within three days. During the hearing, Farrukh Shah’s lawyer Farooq H Naik said in court that NAB has completed the investigation, what is the need to arrest Farrukh Shah? It is not a crime to own property.
The NAB lawyer said that Farrukh Shah did not cooperate in the investigation, NAB has been issuing arrest warrants for Farrukh Shah since April 2020.
