Central Punjab receives stormy rains, likely to enjoy more showers on Eid Days

Many districts and suburb areas of central Punjab on Wednesday received heavy rains and storm with heavy lightning.
Dozens of electricity feeders in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Kamonki, Muridke, and other areas tripped and the supply of electricity suspended resultantly.
According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, after the rainfall, the weather of the region has become pleasant as the temperature dropped till to 28 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in the city for the next two to three days so the people of central Punjab will enjoy the rain and cloudy weather in upcoming Eid Days.
Following the situation created after the heavy rains in different districts of central Punjab especially, the local administrations have issued alerts instructing all concerned agencies to be fully prepared.
Lahore Commissioner Captain ® Muhammad Usman alerted all the district departments to deal with the emergency situation by heavy rain and wind. He directed all the ACs and officials of the metropolitan municipality to reach the field personally.
He ordered the administration to keep the roads clear keeping the machinery required for drainage fully functional. He also ensured that the LESCO, WASA, MCL, and other departments would present in the field.
Several feeders of electricity were tripped in Lahore and roads become water ponds due to heavy rains. LESCO and WASA officials started efforts to ease people by restoring the facilities in the city.
In the Muridke, heavy rain with hailstones was observed while many electricity feeders in Gujranwala and Kamonki also tripped and some trees and poles caved in from their base.
