FIA Gujranwala makes key arrest in connection with Libya boat tragedy

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Gujranwala Circle has arrested a human smuggler allegedly involved in the tragic Libya boat accident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Imtiaz Ahmed, was apprehended from Mandi Bahauddin. He went into hiding after the Greece boat incident.
The arrested individual is suspected of orchestrating an illegal operation that aimed to transport innocent citizens from Libya to Europe. The illegal scheme came to light as investigations revealed that the accused received a substantial amount, totalling Rs1450000, from a citizen to facilitate the migration of the latter's son to Libya via Italy.
Tragically, the son of the concerned citizen is reported missing, adding a poignant dimension to the unfolding events. The FIA has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to determine the whereabouts and well-being of the missing individual.
The accused, Imtiaz Ahmed, is now under FIA custody, and the investigative process is underway. The arrest is a significant step in dismantling the network involved in human smuggling, shedding light on the illicit activities that risk the lives of unsuspecting individuals seeking a better future.
