21 people die as heavy rains, lightning wreak havoc in KP

Heavy rains and lightning wreaked havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa triggering flash floods, destruction and roof collapses in which 21 people have died, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Tragedy struck KP’s Taghor District where flash floods caused by heavy rains caused huge damage. As it was not enough, lightning struck five houses claiming the lives of 16 people.
In another tragic incident in Abbottabad, five people died after the roof of a house caved in the Kakol area.
In Taghor, the destruction of five houses by lightning left behind a trail of destruction and death in which 16 people died.
The rescuers pulled out 15 bodies from the rubble so far. Five people were also injured in the mishap who were rushed to a local hospital.
Police said the search for the remaining one body was continuing. Local residents and police personnel were also helping in the relief operation.
In Abbottabad, heavy rains caused roof of a house collapsed in Kakol area, burying seven people.
Five of them died and their bodies were retrieved by the 1122 rescuers while efforts were under way to pull out the other two.
