Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Mirza Aslam Baig Wednesday strongly condemned smearing campaign launched on the social media against Pakistan army.
In an audio message, Gen (retd) Aslam Baig categorically rejected all the statement attributed to him on the social media against Pak army.
He said some condemnable and vulgar statement against Pakistan army and its leadership are being attributed to him on the social media that he completely reject.
He said his identity and honour is due to the army and he respects each and every soldier and official of the Pak army.
He said to him it is unethical to criticize or give any anti-army statements. He said the army has given him this recognition and his heart, mind and soul will always praise the Pak army until his last breath.
Addressing the youth, Gen (retd) Aslam Baig said the smear campaign against Pak army was part of the Pakistan’s enemies’ designs and they should not become a tool of the enemy’s conspiracy. He urged the youth don’t make their own clean and pure characters maligned by becoming part of such conspiracy as it is also not liked by Almighty Allah.
Gen (retd) Aslam Baig’s statement came after a storm of fake news and statements that flooded the social media against the Pakistan army in wake of the departure of Imran Khan from the prime minister's office which he alleged was due to the conspiracy hatched by America. It is suspected that PTI’s social media handlers are involved in the smearing campaign against the Pak army and Pakistan Army’s Formation Commanders Conference also took note of this campaign yesterday.
