Morocco boat tragedy: FIA nabs human smuggler from Gujranwala

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday arrested an accused involved in the boat tragedy in Morocco from Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
FIA Director of the Gujranwala Zone, Abdul Qadir Qamar, said that the arrested accused was later identified as Waqar Zafar.
The accused, with the help of his colleagues, tried to send innocent citizens to Ethiopia, Senegal, and Mauritania via Spain.
The citizens were first sent to Mauritania, and then they tried to smuggle them through a boat to Spain, but the ill-fated boat met with an accident near Malta during which a citizen lost his life.
The accused and his colleagues charged Rs21 million from their family by showing them golden dreams to settle them in Europe.
More arrests are on the cards on the identification of arrested accused. Director FIA Gujranwala Zone Abdul Qadir Qamar said that the crackdown against human smugglers will continue.
He went on to say that anyone who is found involved in human smuggling will be dealt with with iron hands.
