Nasir tells tale of 'Nawaz-Arshad meeting'

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nasir Butt Tuesday claimed that he arranged a meeting of ex-judge Arshad Malik with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind.
Talking to 24NewsHD TV channel, Nasir Butt said during the meeting the late judge told the former premier that he was ‘not supposed to give the verdict against him. “I was shown my videos and was forced to pass the judgment.”
However, the PML-N leader said after listening to the former judge judge, Nawaz Sharif did not say anything. “Former prime minister left it to the mercy of the Almighty that led to his acquittal,” Butt stressed.
Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted the former prime minister in Al-Azizia reference. An IHC divisional bench consisting of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb pronounced the verdict minutes after it was reserved.
The court also rejected the National Accountability Bureau’s plea to return the case to the trial court and heard the case on merits. Butt cited the former judges as saying: “I was asked to give the verdict.
