Attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics thwarted

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle out of Pakistan a huge consignment of narcotics during an operation near Jiwani port of Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The attempt was made to smuggle 700kg of hashish through sea route.
According to the spokesman of ANF, the personnel of ANF carried out a joint operation with Frontier Corps (FC) and sized 110 kg of ice, 20kg of opium and 4 kg of hashish in General Area Raje of Balochistan.
In yet another joint venture in Khyber, the ANF and FC personnel recovered 23 kg 500 grams of hashish was recovered from plastic bags.
Moreover, Rawalpindi International Mail Office was raided and officials confiscated a parcel booked for Birmingham that weighed 16 kg, 500 grammes. Ice was recovered in the parcel curtains.
Likewise, 66 grams of weed was also recovered from the parcel coming from Birmingham to Rawalpindi International Mail Office.
Meanwhile, a suspect was held near Murree Road, Rawalpindi and 10 narcotic pills and 58 grams of ice were recovered from him.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
Besides that, the Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel recovered 1.264 kg ice heroin from Jeddah bound passenger during the search of luggage at Karachi Airport.
Rehmatullah, the detained accused, had skillfully hidden the ice heroin in the frames and folds of two bags.
After initial investigation, the accused was handed over to ANF authorities for further legal action along with the recovered drugs.
