State Minister for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik has slammed Israel’s comments on Pakistan regarding the human rights situation and termed these as interference in Pakistan affairs, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Musadik Malik said it was surprising to see Israel’s comments on Pakistan after the May 9 riots in which it favoured the culprits behind the attacks on state institutions.
Musadiq said that Israel itself has a history of massive human rights violations and oppressing Palestinian people for decades and mercilessly killing innocent civilians and children.
He lamented that Israel came in defence of those people who betrayed Pakistan.
The minister said that Israel’s comments came in favour of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which planned and carried out violent attacks against state institutions on May 9.
He hinted that the events like May 9 riots won’t happen again.
Regarding the imports of petroleum products, the state minister said that Pakistan’s deal with Russia will be beneficial in all aspects.
“More agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Azerbaijan will be finalised soon,” he said.
He added that recent developments in Pakistan are good and there would be more good news in the coming days.
Israel has demanded in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) review meeting that the ban on homosexuality in Pakistan should be lifted.
The recommendations presented to Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council also called for action to stop “enforced disappearances, violence, crackdown on peaceful protests, and violence against religious minorities”.
