In Rawalpindi, a major case of poor police performance has come to light as eight robberies have taken place in a single mobile phone shop in Rawalpindi in eight years.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the shop is located in the Lane Five area of Rawalpindi within the limits of Westridge Police Station.
The shopkeeper Ziaul Haq has registered the case with the police every year but to date, the dacoits have not been arrested.
On Monday, robbers once again looted the shop and took the money and some valuable things. The shopkeeper provided CCTV footage of the dacoity to the police but no action was taken.
Shopkeeper Zia-ul-Haq said since 2016, there has been an incident of robbery and every year the police register an FIR without taking action. He said police could not trace even one of the eight robberies.
The eighth incident of robbery took place at the store five days ago, he said adding that they made a phone call to Police Rescue 15 during the incident but a policeman reached the spot after 2 hours late.
He said the CCTV footage of the recent incident has also been given to the police and appealed to all officers including the IG Police Punjab but failed to get any response.
Shopkeeper Ziaul Haq said he was highly disappointed with the police performance and that he will not report an incident of dacoity if happened in the future.
