Patients suffered a great deal of inconvenience after the young doctors Monday closed outpatient department (OPD) at Mayo Hospital, Lahore over the non-payment of salaries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Young Doctors Association (YDA) President Dr Rashid Virk said that the management of Mayo Hospital had been requested repeatedly for the payment of the doctors’ salaries.
“But they turned a deaf ear to all our requests,” he added.
“The YDA will completely close the OPD of Mayo Hospital tomorrow after 8:00 AM,” he announced.
“If our demands are not met, the strike will be extended to the inpatient department,” he warned.
“If the management does not agree, the operation theatres will also be closed. A hunger strike camp will also be set up after 48 hours,” he added.
