Govt allows air transportation of virus infected bodies

The Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday allowed bringing back bodies of overseas Pakistanis died from coronavirus.
Following the government directives, the CAA issued a notification. All the bodies can be brought back by following the SOPs issued by the CAA, said the notification.
The Civil Aviation Authority informed all the airlines, charter companies and ground handling departments about the SOPs.
According to the SOPs: “The body should be transported in a sealed coffin. All the staff deputed for transporting the bodies should be disinfected properly. The plane carrying bodies will be parked at cargo area. The concerned airline will inform the CAA 48 hours before its departure. The concerned staff will adopt all the precautionary measure at the airport. The body should be wrapped in two cloths dipped with specific chemical. The airline carrying the body should have disinfected container. All the documents of the deceased will be checked before receiving the body.”
