FC soldier martyred, two injured in Chaman border clash

At least one soldier of Frontier Corps (FC) was martyred and two others sustained injuries due to cross-border firing at the Spin Boldak-Chaman border, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to Levies officials, the clash took place early on Sunday and resulted in the closure of the crossing. After the firing, there was an exchange of fire between Pak-Afghan security personnel.
Later, Pakistani authorities had contacted Afghan authorities for a ceasefire.
It is reported that after the incident Bab-e-Dosti has been closed to trade and commuters, trapping cargo trucks and civilians on both sides of the border.
According to Levies officials, there has been a flag meeting between Pakistan and Afghan officials on the chapter of friendship, in which it has been said that the chapter of friendship will remain closed until the attackers are handed over.
In this regard, the Afghan authorities said that the attackers were unknown terrorists in the guise of the Taliban, and the search for them is ongoing.
On the other hand, the customs officials said that the customs house is being evacuated due to firing from the Afghan border, the customs and immigration staff have been evacuated immediately.
Deputy Commissioner Chaman Hameed Zahri said that Pak-Afghan border will remain closed for an indefinite period of time.
It is pertinent that thousands of people travel though the crossing daily, making it a main trading point.
