Bollywood cashing in on Lollywood celebs, reveals Mikaal Zuliqar

Prominent Pakistani actor Mikaal Zulfiqar has appeared in ‘The Knock Knock’ show hosted by Mohib Mirza where the actor labels Bollywood as ‘exploitative’.

Mikaal Zulfiqar is one of the biggest stars in the Pakistani entertainment industry who also worked in Bollywood and his experience was not too good which he has shared before.

This time the conversation held during the show between the popular actor and the host, Mikaal said Bollywood takes advantage of Pakistani actors.

Here are the exact words of the actor:

“India always takes advantage of Pakistani actors. They will always use us in the worst way and they will portray the Pakistani actor negatively either via script or through other means.”

Mikael further stated:

“Bollywood is exploitative towards Pakistani actors and I think the new generation therefore cannot really work there easily.”

“It is what we deserve, a level playing field. Just to do a supporting role or something that will be made fun of back in the country, is not worth it. And we are fine here,” the actor concluded.

Mikaal shared that his experience of working in Bollywood was not good enough. He was part of Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Baby’.

According to media reports, the actor, in an interview, claimed that Baby was an anti-Pakistan film, but he wasn't aware of it at the time of signing for the movie. Zulfiqar said he in fact asked the makers of the movie if the film had any anti-Pakistan content.

He further said that he had no idea about the script and watched the movie only after it hit the theatres. After this experience, he decided not to work in Indian movies, he claimed. Mikael also added that they don’t treat us equally.

It is pertinent to mention here that Mikaal Zulfiqar, is a British-Pakistani actor and former model. He has appeared in a number of Pakistani television series and is one of the highest-paid Pakistani actors.

Currently, he is working as a main lead on the drama serial, ‘Jesay Apki Marzi’.
