Constitutional amendment is biggest challenge for govt, NAB reforms are necessary: Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that the constitutional amendment are talks of the town in Pakistan but it is difficult to bring such amendments unless there is majority consensus among political parties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to media in the parliament, Bilawal Bhutto admitted that every citizen is disappointed with current political situation in the country as everyone knows the system was not working.
He said the biggest challenge for the government is constitutional amendment. He said Zulfiqar Bhutto got justice after three generations.
He said everyone knows in Pakistan that various institutions are not job which it wants to do.
Bilawal said the incidents of terrorism in Balochistan are in front of everyone and the situation in KP is even worse as Chief Minister has problems in his village.
He said every political party is present in the Parliament and all of them are represented in this committee. There is nothing to force it. PPP leader urged all political parties to start working on the Charter of Democracy.
Bilawal said NAB reforms are very important which was included in the manifesto of Pakistan Peoples Party. Now PML-N and PTI also has the same manifesto. When they are in the opposition, there is a different manifesto for NAB, when they are in the government, there is a different stance.
He said, “If we really want to fight corruption and not political revenge, then NAB reforms are necessary.” He said free and fair journalism is essential.
Bilawal Bhutto added that no institution in the country is functioning properly. He cited the judiciary, saying that Shaheed Bhutto has only now received justice. If Bhutto's third generation had to wait for justice, what hope can the common man have?
The PPP chairman also stressed the need for free and responsible journalism, stating that if an elected representative speaks against the media, the media must tolerate it.
