ANF busts drug courier network in Peshawar

Anti-Narcotics Force arrested a member of a network which was involved in smuggling drugs through a courier service in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel on Monday.
A spokesman of ANF said that the arrested accused booked 11 parcels containing drugs.
During detailed checking of parcels, the ANF personnel recovered 5.7 kilogram of hashish, 200 grams of ice, 120 prohibited tablets, 150 grams of opium, fake currency worth Rs100,000 and a 30-bore pistol.
Later, ANF team arrested three people outside Haji Camp in Peshawar and recovered two kilograms of hashish from their possession.
During initial investigation, it was revealed that these accused were involved in smuggling drugs on inter-provincial level.
These accused after buying narcotics from Bara and other adjacent areas later smuggled it to other areas via courier service.
ANF enhanced its surveillance to foil any bid to smuggle narcotics via courier service.
ANF appealed people to extend their full cooperation in this regard. ANF said that network involved in digital narcotics smuggling is a serious threat for national security.
ANF after registering a case under anti-narcotics act and started investigation.
Further investigation was underway to apprehend the remaining culprits.
