Pakistan’s former skipper and top batter Babar Azam continued to hold the top position in the latest ODI rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

India ODI captain Rohit Sharma has moved closer to the top-ranked Babar Azam, holding onto the top spot with a massive lead of 59 points.

Rohit had an outstanding series against Sri Lanka, although India lost 0-2. The 37-year-old finished as the top run-scorer after notching 157 runs from three games at an average of 52.33 and a strike-rate of 141.44 with two half-centuries and a top score of 64 to his name.

The Indian captain surpassed his teammate Shubman Gill, who moved down to third place, with a difference of two points.

Sri Lanka batters made significant gains in the latest ICC ODI Rankings after they defeated India in a bilateral series for the first time since 1997.
