Lahore drops to fifth position in world’s most polluted cities ranking

Following a marked reduction in smog, Lahore dropped to fifth position on the list of the world’s most polluted cities on Monday as the air quality index (AQI) in the Punjab capital was recorded at 254, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, the city was still ranked as the country's most polluted city.
The AQI over the US consulate was recorded at 289, over Ghazi Road at 274, over Johar Town at 242 and over Askari-10 at 241.
The Met Office, on the other hand, forecast partly cloudy and dry weather for the city.
It predicted that the maximum temperature in the provincial capital would touch 25 degrees Celsius later in the day.
The AQI in Multan was recorded at 245, and 158 in Haripur.
