Granting PTI worker Sanam Javed a seven-day protective bail in a May 9-related case registered against her in Mianwali, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday barred the police from arresting her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, who heard Sanam’s petition, also directed her to approach a relevant court within seven days.
The PTI worker, who appeared in the court along with her lawyer Ahad Khokhar, had said in her petition that she was being dragged into the case without any reason. “The only allegation against me is that I was a member of an unlawful assembly,” Sanam said.
Speaking in the courtroom, Khokhar said that there were fears of his client’s arrest in connection with a case registered against her in Mianwali. “The petitioner wants to appear in the relevant court; therefore it is prayed to the court to give her protective bail.”
