Indonesia to provide palm oil to Pakistan on urgent basis

The efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide edible oil to the people have borne fruit as brotherly country Indonesia will provide palm oil to Pakistan on urgent basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
As per the official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a telephonic conversation with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on June 10 last.
On the directive of the prime minister, a Pakistani delegation also visited Indonesia and held successful talks with the Indonesian ministry of commerce for the provision of palm oil to Pakistan.
In the next two weeks, palm oil-laden 10 ships will reach Pakistan from Indonesia and Malaysia.
It is to be noted here that a total of 250,000 metric tonnes of palm oil is being provided to Pakistan from Indonesia.
On the directive of the prime minister, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Syed Murtaza Mahmood settled matters with his Indonesian counterpart.
At the request of the Pakistani delegation, the Indonesian ministry of commerce speedily finalised all the matters regarding provision of edible oil to Pakistan.
The first ship, loaded with 30,000 metric tonnes of palm oil, will leave for Pakistan on Tuesday (today).
