Elahi announces creation of five new districts in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Parvaiz Elahi has announced the creation of five new administrative districts in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
A decision to this effect was taken in a high-level meeting held in the Chief Minister's House under the chair of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi here on Friday.
Former chief minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Mohsin Leghari, Munis Elahi, and other cabinet members took part in the meeting.
Provincial senior member board of revenue gave a briefing on new districts in Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Parvaiz Elahi speaking on the occasion said the decision to create new districts has been made keeping in mind the convenience of the people and public representatives. After the creation of the districts, education, health, and other facilities will be increased for the general masses, he added.
Chief Minister further said that the fruits of development will also reach the doorsteps of the people.
In the meeting, it was decided to start work on making Jampur a district on the demand of Mohsin Leghari. In the next few days, the final decision will likely be taken in this regard.
The members of the assembly thanked Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi for approving the districts in the meeting.
