PPP issues show-cause notice to Latif Khosa for representing Imran Khan in court

TV grab

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has issued a show-cause notice to Sardar Latif Khosa for representing incarcerated PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in corruption case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The notice asked Sardar Latif Khosa to explain why did he not seek prior permission to represent in court leader of a rival political party. “Why is disciplinary action not taken against you,” the notice said.

The PPP gave Latif Khosa seven days to respond to the show-cause notice, which was issued by the party Secretary General Nayyer Bukhari.

Meanwhile, Latif Khosa said he will not attend the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting to be held in Lahore today.

He said he has received an invitation for the CEC meeting but he would skip it due to his engagements at the Supreme Court in Islamabad.  “Who will expel me as PPP is my party,” he added.

Latif Khosa, however, made it clear that he has not received any show-cause notice yet. “I will decide giving a response or otherwise after I receive the show-cause notice,” he added.

Aitzaz Ahsan also not to attend CEC huddle

Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has decided not to attend the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in Lahore.

Aitzaz Ahsan will not attend the meeting due to his engagements in Islamabad. He had participated in the previous CEC meeting of the PPPP in Karachi.

It is to be noted here that disgruntled PPP leader Latif Khosa will also not attend the CEC meeting in Lahore.
