Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Pakistan on April 22 for two days amid heightened tensions following Tehran’s unprecedented missile and drone attacks on Israel, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Pakistan Foreign Office has also confirmed the Iranian president’s visit.

President Asif Ali Zardari will host a banquet in honour of his Iranian counterpart. President Raisi will also hold one-on-one talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with special focus on the gas pipeline project.

It would be President Raisi’s first foreign trip in the wake of tensions between Iran and Israel.

President Raisi was the first to felicitate PM Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the office.

The recent developments and regional security situation would figure prominently in the talks between President Raisi and Prime Minister Shehbaz.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the two countries to deepen their cooperation that received a temporary setback in January’s missile exchanges.
