The prime accused in the Amir Mustafa murder case, Armaghan, was once again shifted to Jinnah Hospital after he complained of chest pain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to hospital sources, an ECG test was conducted, and various medications were prescribed following his examination.
It is pertinent to mention that on March 26, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi approved the FIA’s request to investigate Armaghan in a money laundering case linked to the same murder investigation.
Previously, Armaghan had already been sent to jail in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Amir Mustafa. The FIA had requested permission to interrogate him regarding a hawala/hundi and crypto-based money laundering scheme, which the court allowed under the condition that questioning would only take place within the jail premises.
The court directed the superintendent of Central Jail to fully cooperate with the FIA’s investigation team.
According to the FIA Anti-Money Laundering Circle, Armaghan was allegedly involved in a massive fraud operation, laundering $300,000 to $400,000 per month using cryptocurrency and purchasing luxury vehicles with the proceeds.
The FIR reveals that Armaghan operated a call centre that targeted American citizens, scamming them via impersonation and deception. He also opened bank accounts in the names of his employees and formed a company in the United States with his father’s assistance to run the illegal hawala/hundi business.
His team reportedly included 25 individuals, each tasked with defrauding at least five people daily.
