Dozens of families caught in Northern Areas landslide

Dozens of tourist families have been caught in landslide triggered by flash floods in valleys of Northern areas, reported 24News HD TV channel on Sunday.
Due to the landslides, Babu-Sar Highway and the Karakoram Highway have been closed for any kind of traffic as the roads were badly damaged.
Gilgit-Baltistan's Diamer district was once again in the grip of intermittent rains.
According to the reports, two vehicles were fell off due to landslides at Tata Pani. Dozens of tourists, families, and local passengers were also stranded in the area due to the closure of the highways.
As per the reports received from the Chilas area, some passengers and tourists including females and children were trapped in the centre after blocking the road from both sides by land sliding.
The Babu-Sar Naran National Highway has also been closed due to floods at Thak Jal and some other adjacent valleys including Newat and Dewar.
Due to the closure of Tatta Pani and Babu-Sar highway, long queues of vehicles were formed.
