Alert issues for flood in River Korang as Rawal Dam spillways opened

The spillways of Rawal dam opened Monday as the water level reached an alarming 1751ft due to the recent rains, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The spillways will be opened from 6pm to 11pm depending upon the rain conditions at that time.
The spillways will remained open till the level reaches 1750 feet and they will be opened at a minimum level of a foot.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has directed the response units, concerned organizations and the monitoring and relief camps to remain cautious and alert.
The Law Enforcement Agencies and the police will also be deployed at the Korang river bed where the spillways will be spilling the excess water.
Section 144 has been imposed in the surroundings of the Rawal Dam and severe legal action will be taken against the violators.
