ECP bans media from conducting entry and exit poll surveys

The Election Commission of Pakistan has banned the media from conducting entry and exit election surveys, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The Election Commission has banned official digital media accounts of print and electronic media outlets as well as social media influencers from airing their opinioin regarding polling for the upcoming elections.
A complete ban has been imposed on the publication of related opinions.
The ECP is required to hold general elections in the country within 90 days after the dissolution of the National Assembly.
The former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif dissolved the National Assembly on August 9. New interim Premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar was sworn in yesterday. He would spearhead the caretaker setup which would be responsible for the smooth transition of power to an elected government which will come as a result of upcoming general elections.
