FIA busts RAW sleeper cell in Karachi

The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) Anti-Terrorism Wing in a major operation arrested Zafar, a key member of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)’s sleeper cell in Karachi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The accused Zafar has been involved in several bomb blasts and targeted killings. The arrested accused has received 14-month terrorist training in India, officials of the FIA Karachi said.
The accused Zafar was given armed training by militants affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) in New Delhi.
The arrested accused is an expert in making bombs and using modern weapons, the FIA officials added. They further said that accused Zafar has also worked in the provincial government’s fire brigade department.
The FIA Karachi officials also uncovered the reference to India’s international secret network. They said, “Two suspects of a money exchange company that provided funds to RAW sleeper cell were also arrested.”
The FIA officials further said that accused Safyan is the director of a money exchange company and Javed Memon is the manager of the money exchange company.
The FIA has said that details of other accomplices of the accused have been provided to all the airports of the country to block their escape from the country.
