Pakistan Navy conducted a Steel Cutting Ceremony of 4th Milgem Class Corvette, in Karachi Shipyard, according to the Spokesman of Pakistan Navy.

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the special guest of the occasion. 

Pakistan Navy’s DGPR said that the ship will be equipped with the latest weapons and sensors.

CNS Admiral Muhammad Khan Niazi said mutual cooperation of Ministry of Defense Production, Pakistan Navy, Karachi Shipyard and Turkish Company for the construction of warships is welcome. 

“It is commendable that Karachi Shipyard and Isfat Turkey crossed the important milestone in time despite the global pressure amid pandemic due to coronavirus,” Admiral Niazi said. 

“The inclusion of medium-class Corvette aircraft will further enhance the ability to deal with conventional and non-conventional threats,” CNS Admiral Niazi said. 

The ceremony was also attended by the head of Turkish company Isfat, government officials, senior officials of Pakistan Navy and shipyard.

The Pakistan Navy ship conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Italian Navy Ship in the Gulf of Aden on June 14.

A Navy Spokesperson said that the aim of the exercise was to enhance interoperability and strengthen bilateral relations between two navies. The exercise included Maritime Interdiction Oprations Cross Deck Landings and various naval Ops procedures.
