The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders lashed out at the coalition government for, what they called, bringing in an anti-people budget and going for political persecution.
Addressing a press conference, Omar Ayub Khan and Rauf Hassan claimed the PTI government took steps to ensure accountability while the PML-N-led coalition spoiled their efforts.
Rauf Hasan said: “Yesterday we met our founding chairman in jail. The PTI chairman has clearly stated that he is not negotiating with any party.”
He added: “The founding chairman is not ready to have any talk with these thieves. If Mehmood Khan wants to talk to anyone from the alliance platform, that is his choice.
Omar said the PTI allocated Rs48 million for the National Accountability Bureau in its rule.
When they came into power they did everything for themselves, he said, adding that the allies acted so cunningly that if the evidence is found, it will not work in any court of Pakistan.
The opposition leader said: “They should be questioned about how much these people pay taxes.
He complained that the opposition was not provided with copies of financial bills and questioned how it could know about the proposals.
“Why the SIMS of poor people are being blocked.
“This budget is part of the London Plan. It has nothing to do with public welfare.
“Many LCs were opened in the caretaker setup and wheat was imported when it was not needed, costing farmers dearly. And they say there is no need of inquiry.”
Omer Ayub claimed the PTI regime gave all facilities to political leaders in jail but his party leaders and workers are being subjected to persecution and discrimination.
He continued: “When they were in jail, they were given every facility. Their family members and others were allowed visits and served in the best manner.
“But when it comes to the PTI founder and other party members, no facilities are being provided. Family members and other leaders are not allowed to visit the jail.”
Omer said Imran Khan wants PTI members to be freed from jails. “He demands bogus cases should be quashed. Sanam Javed, Yasmin Rashid and other leaders should be released. PTI leaders get out of jail and get arrested again.
