Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Tuesday vowed to fight the opposition’s no-confidence motion in a constitutional and legal way, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“The government does not have any plan to obstruct and intimidate the parliamentarians,” maintained the foreign minister while talking to newsmen in Islamabad.
Qureshi maintained that the there were visible chaos in the ranks of the Opposition and it also did have enough numbers.
“Neither do the opposition parties share one ideology, nor do they have the same flag and goal,” added he and also stated that the opposition’s alliance was not long-lasting.
“There are some things that Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to share with people,” Qureshi said and added that the prime minister would take the people into confidence in the PTI’s public meeting in Islamabad.
“Our March 27 public meeting in Islamabad will be peaceful. The participants will disperse shortly after the meeting concludes,” he said.
“I can’t understand the opposition’s logic. If they have got the required numbers for the no-confidence motion, why do they need to organise a long march then?” the foreign minister pointed out.
“The government did not stop the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) long march on Islamabad. The government will not stop the long marches in future too,” added he.
Qureshi, Indonesian FM agree to enhance bilateral relations
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Indonesia Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi held a telephonic conversation and discussed multifaceted aspects of bilateral relations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Both leader agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations between two countries.
The Indonesian foreign minister also invited her counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi to visit Indonesia.
They agreed to further strengthen cooperation in politically, trade ties and economic matters, as well as in the United Nations, ASEAN, OIC and other multilateral fora.
The two Foreign Ministers agreed to continue co-operation on issues of mutual interest, both bilateral and multilateral.
