Extremely hazardous air puts Karachi on top of most polluted cities

Extremely hazardous air quality in Pakistan’s economic hub Karachi has put the city on the top in the list of world cities with highest pollution levels, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The weather department has attributed the ‘smog’ engulfing the city to change in the wind direction.
According to the air quality index, pollution level in the port city stands at 225 as smoke and dust particles lie suspended in the air.
The large concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere has reduced the visibility to as less as 3 kilometers.
Temperatures dip during the night time. It was 19 degrees Celsius in the city on Thursday night, while the maximum temperature was expected to fluctuate between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.
