Qureshi had said in June this year that lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan are essential for the development of the entire region.
The foreign minister had met Special Envoy of Pakistan to Afghanistan Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq in Islamabad and said that Pakistan played a constructive role in the Afghan peace process, adding that the international community was also acknowledging its efforts.
"Pakistan will continue to play a vital role in ensuring peace and stability in the region," the foreign minister had told the Afghan ambassador. The two sides also discussed matters relating to the Afghan peace process, as well as regional peace and stability.
