ECC approves Pakistan’s first electric vehicles policy

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the electric vehicles policy at a meeting on Wednesday. 

According to a statement issued after the meeting, the ECC also approved changes to the local mobile phones manufacturing policy. In this regard, the ECC has approved withdrawal of 4 percent withholding tax on the sale of locally made mobile phones to retailers. The committee has also approved removal of sales tax on the sale of locally made mobile phones.
