An accountability court in Lahore on Thursday barred the National Accountability Bureau from arresting former Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, accepting his interim bail in an inquiry into amassing assets beyond means and a call-up notice by NAB till February 27, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his request, the former chief minister said that National Accountability Bureau had summoned him in amassing assets beyond means inquiry. He said he feared he could be arrested. So he needed interim bail.
Usman Buzdar personally appeared in court and pleaded for interim bail. Barrister Momin Malik advanced arguments on behalf of Usman Buzdar.
The court granted Buzdar interim bail till February 27 and asked NAB not to arrest the former chief minister.
The court directed the former chief minister to submit two surety bonds of five lac rupees each.
