Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) nominated two candidates have dropped out of the race for Punjab Caretaker Cheif Ministership.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Cheif Minister Pervez Elahi with the consent of PTI has suggested three names including Nasir Mahmood Khosa, Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, and Muhammad Naseer Khan for the slot of caretaker CM in Punjab.
PTI's nominated bureaucrat Nasir Mahmood Khosa on Monday apologized to take the interim setup.
Nasir Khosa said he has apologized as he doesn't want to be a caretaker chief minister of Punjab. So now he has dropped out of the caretake CM's race.
As per the channel report, another nominee Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera can also not become caretaker Chief Minister as he is currently in government service.
The channel report said Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera is scheduled to retire on January 31 from the government job. So he could also not be a part of the caretaker setup.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Federal Minister Khawaja Asif in a tweet disclosed that they also made a contact with Nasir Khosa for caretaker chief ministership but he disagreed with the proposal.
