A massive fire broke out at a fibre sheet manufacturing factory in Lahore, causing goods worth millions of rupees to be reduced to ashes on Thursday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the factory was operational in Gulshan Town, located in the Thokar area of Lahore. Upon receiving the alert, multiple fire brigade vehicles reached the scene and immediately began efforts to extinguish the flames.
Rescue 1122 teams and emergency vehicles also rushed to the site and launched a full-scale rescue operation. Officials from Rescue 1122 confirmed that their personnel, alongside the fire brigade, were actively engaged in firefighting efforts.
The fire continued to rage till the filing of this report, with emergency crews still working to bring it under control.
This incident adds to a worrying pattern of industrial fires in Lahore in recent months. On March 14, a huge blaze erupted in a chemical factory in Nishtar Colony, completely engulfing the facility and causing damages worth millions.
Rescue 1122 had promptly responded and managed to bring the flames under control in the factory’s chemical tower, located near Gajju Mata.
In February 2025, a fire broke out at an optical shop in Lahore’s Makkah Colony, spreading to a nearby house. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported. Rescue officials later confirmed that the cause of the fire was a short circuit.
Lahore has repeatedly witnessed such industrial incidents, raising serious concerns about safety standards and fire preparedness in factories across the city.
