Bollywood diva Gauri Khan's well-known restaurant Torii is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
An influencer and YouTuber, Sarthak Sachdeva, visited different celebrities' famous restaurants and checked the paneers that if its real or fake.
Upon visiting Gauri's 'Torii', he claimed that she is using fake paneer in the food.
He claimed that the restaurant's paneer included starch, a sign of adulteration, based on his test results.
In the shared video, he tests a piece of paneer that is offered at Gauri Khan's restaurant, using an iodine tincture. The paneer turned blue and black when the iodine touched it in this test, which is frequently used to find out whether starch is present.
Gauri's restaurant is renowned for its opulent furnishings and famous patrons, and now they have responded to the fake paneer allegations.
The restaurant has denied rumors that its food contains tainted ingredients. "The iodine test reflects the presence of starch, not the authenticity of the paneer. As the dish contains soy-based ingredients, this reaction is expected. We stand by the purity of our paneer and the integrity of our ingredients at Torii," read the response in the comment section.
The influencer checked the paneer at Bobby Deol's 'Someplace Else', Shilpa Shetty's 'Bastian', and Virat Kohli's 'One8 Commune'. When tested with the same iodine, none of the paneer samples from those stores turned black, indicating that there was no starch present.
