A Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant located near Akbar Chowk in the Township area of Lahore was targeted in a petrol bomb attack by unidentified motorcyclists, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The police said that the assailants hurled bottles filled with petrol, causing flames to rise rapidly as they hit the restaurant's entrance.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and law enforcement officials have taken the footage into custody to assist with the investigation.

A policeman present on the spot opened aerial fire to deter the suspects, but the attackers managed to escape before they could be apprehended.

According to police sources, the identification process is underway using CCTV footage, and officials are confident that the suspects will be arrested soon.

Yesterday, a worker of KFC in Sheikhupura was killed in an attack on the restaurant by a radical Islamist party during an anti-Israel protest.

According to the media reports, the incident took place in Sheikhupura when a large number of religious activists attacked the KFC restaurant.

Last year, on April 12, 2024, the angry young protesters carrying Palestinian flags reached the outside of the KFC in Larkana, Sindh, and tried to shut it down.

Larkana police acted timely and prevented a charged crowd, who were chanting slogans against Israel and in support of Palestinians, from shutting down a KFC restaurant in the city.

Later, a number of cops were deployed outside the KFC branch.

On March 31, 2024, the police in the AJK city of Mirpur had arrested at least 50 alleged miscreants during a violent attack on a KFC outlet.

Mirpur AJK Senior Superintendent of Police Kamran Ali had said the police were after other absconding accused in­volved in storming the Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet at sector F/1 in Mirpur.

The accused had staged an anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian protest demonstration, calling for a boycott of the KFC products.
