Aamir Bhutto, the Union Council Chairman of UC-1 Orangi Town and a senior member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), was shot dead on Thursday in the Gulshan-e-Zia area of Karachi’s District West, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to SSP West Tariq Mastoi, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Bazaar police station, where two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle stormed Bhutto’s office and opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Police officials confirmed the recovery of five to six spent bullet shells from the scene. A heavy police contingent, including the SDPO and SHO, reached the site immediately and cordoned off the area. The body was later shifted for medico-legal formalities.

Initial investigations suggest that Aamir Bhutto was inside his chairman's office when the motorcycle-borne attackers executed the hit and fled. The motive is still under investigation, but authorities have stated they are examining the incident from multiple angles.

Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho has taken serious notice of the killing and has sought an immediate report from the SSP West. He also directed the police to ensure the swift arrest of the culprits and to carry out a transparent and thorough investigation into the incident.
