The Rawalpindi Traders Association has announced a complete shutter-down strike on April 26 in a strong show of solidarity with the people of Palestine, following a unanimous decision made in a meeting of various trade organisations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

President of the Punjab Traders Association, Sharjeel Mir, said the strike was being observed on the call of the All Pakistan Traders Association, and reaffirmed that it is the moral duty of every Muslim to raise their voice for Palestinians facing aggression and hardship.

“All businesses, markets, and shops across Rawalpindi will remain closed on April 26 as a mark of support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” Sharjeel Mir said.

He added that this strike is a peaceful demonstration of unity, compassion, and moral responsibility shared by traders across the country, standing firm against oppression and injustice.

The decision comes amid rising global outrage over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with civil society, political groups, and trade unions increasingly stepping up to express solidarity with Palestine.

The traders have urged the public to join in peaceful support and prayers on the day of the strike.
