US dollar gains 23 paisas against Pakistani rupee

With an increase of 23 paisas, the US dollar reached Rs168.16 at the closing time of the trading in inter-bank market, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
Forex dealers say US dollar crossed the mark of Rs168 and the green-pack reached Rs 168.16 from Rs167.93 after an increase of 23 paisas.
On Friday last week, the world’s top currency continued shedding some of its value against the rupee in Pakistan too. In inter-bank exchange rate, the dollar was down by 14 paisas and closed the session at Rs167.93.
The loss made in open market was 10 paisas as the dollar was available for Rs168.40. The euro gained Rs1.06 and the pound nine paisas in inter-bank rate.
The two currencies were thus traded for Rs198.67 and Rs219.68 respectively. But their values remained stable in open market where the euro was available for Rs199 and the pound for Rs 221.
During the last week, the dollar gained only six paisas in inter-bank rate while its net progress in open market is zero despite the fact that it smashed all the records by reaching the value of Rs169 in open market on Monday.
