The government of France has announced financial aid worth EUR 3 million to support UNICEF's health and immunization campaign in flood-affected areas of Pakistan, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to a statement, this important aid will help in the provision of basic health services and immunization in the most affected districts of Sindh province.
The statement revealed that about 1.9 million women and children will benefit from this.
This cooperation was announced by France after an international conference held in Geneva earlier this year.
The statement said that Sindh province was the worst affected by last year's floods. “About 14.5 million people were affected by the floods and about 1,000 health facilities were damaged or completely destroyed.”
UNICEF has provided basic health facilities to 3.6 million people in flood-affected areas during the last year.
In 2022, catastrophic floods affected about 33 million people, the statement said, adding that 16 million children were also included in them.
