Fog blanketed the Punjab capital, Lahore, and its suburbs, disrupting road and air traffic.

Authorities shut Motorways and called upon the people to avoid unnecessary travel to avert any loss. Allama Iqbal International Airport was closed after fog reduced visibility to 30 meters.

Two flights, Abu Dhabi-bound and Sharjah-bound) were cancelled while Flynaz flight will arrive at Lahore airport with 17-hour delay. The UK’s BA 259 t will be arriving with a three-hour delay.

Parts of Punjab, especially capital Lahore are experiencing foggy weather, affecting economic activities and road as well as air traffic.

A spokesperson for the Motorway Police said Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M-1) was closed for vehicular traffic due to dense fog causing poor visibility besides closure of many other sections of the motorway.

On Tuesday, flight operation at the Lahore airport as seven domestic and international flights was cancelled, while six got delayed due to low visibility caused by the fog that blanketed the airport and adjoining areas.
