President, PM reaffirms resolve to continue work for betterment

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Monday held a telephonic conversation with President Asif Ali Zardari in which they exchanged Eid greetings and good wishes. 

They also discussed the overall situation of the country including politics, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.  They reaffirmed their resolve to continue working for the betterment of Pakistan. 

Also, PM contacted the top leadership of the Pakistan Armed Forces to greet them on Eid. He conveyed Eid greetings to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. 

The prime minister said that the entire nation, including him, paid tribute to the Jawans of the armed forces safeguarding the country's frontiers. 

He said under the professional leadership of the top brass of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Jawans had been foiling the nefarious designs of enemies and terrorists. 

Separately, PM Shehbaz contacted different political leaders by telephone to greet them on Eid. The prime minister reiterated his resolve to work for the betterment of Pakistan jointly, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. 

He also held telephonic conversations with JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, ex-PM Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

The prime minister also talked to Abdul Aleem Khan, Sardar Khalid Magsi, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and Professor Sajid Mir and exchanged Eid greetings. 

He hoped that the allied parties in the government would continue their role for the economic stability of Pakistan, adding that they would regain Pakistan’s lost place among the comity of nations by striving day and night. 

He said that all steps were taken to provide maximum relief to the public in the new fiscal budget. 

The political leaders also reciprocated Eid greetings and good wishes and expressed the resolve to continue their cooperation in the coalition government.
