Punjab CM links promotion of Deputy Commissioners with their performance

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made it clear that the promotion of Deputy Commissioners will be made considering their performance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

CM Maryam stated this while chairing a special meeting to review price control initiatives, cleanliness, health and other issues in the province. The meeting was attended by the commissioners and deputy commissioners through video link.

During the meeting, CM Maryam ordered DCs to ensure the sale of roti at a fixed price across the province. She further said that the administration must ensure that the weight and the price of roti should be ensured at all levels.

The CM also stopped the administration from imposing fee on the temporary sale points of sacrificial animals.

While talking about health issues, the CM directed that in order to facilitate patients and their attendants, shades should be constructed in the waiting area of hospitals and fans should also be installed properly.

CM Maryam also ordered that the supply of clean water to patients and attendants in hospitals should be ensured. While the waiting time of patients in hospitals should be minimized.

She also ordered to speed up the campaign against stray dogs. She made it clear to the officers that there will be no compromise on the cleanliness which should be done before the complaints of the people.

Maryam said that the complaints about the presence of sewage water in any city or village in Punjab will not be tolerated. Sewage, drainage and other problems should be solved in cities and villages.

Deputy Commissioners must also visit special education schools on weekly basis, CM Maryam said, adding that reports about the dilapidated school buildings should be sent to the concerned department for repair work.

She urged the regular monitoring of street lights and filtration plants across the province.

She praised the concerned officials that the cleanliness of Lahore has improved and it should be improved further.

She asked Deputy Commissioners to monitor the measles situation in their districts on a daily basis. While the monitoring process of field hospitals and clinic should be continued.

Maryam said the vaccination should be done on a war footing to prevent measles, adding that steps should be taken to prevent Congo Virus before the arrival of cattle. She said the cattle market should be allowed to be set up in every city at the designated places.

After the sacrifice on Eid, the city should be cleaned within a few hours. She also lauded the performance of Deputy Commissioners Narowal, Nankana Sahib, Hafizabad and Murree. Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Information Minister Uzma Zahid Bukhari, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sajid Zafar Dal, Commissioner Lahore and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
