Nasir Mahmood Butt, a close aide of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif is likely to contest for Punjab Assembly polls from PA-18 Rawalpindi, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the sources, the central character of the late Judge Arshad Malik’s video scandal, Nasir Butt will leave for Pakistan on March 20.  He will land at Islamabad Airport. The federal government already canceled red warrants for him. The red notice is canceled against the request of the Punjab Home Department.

Nasir Butt, who is a known social worker and businessman of Rawalpindi, is returning to Pakistan to file his nomination papers for contesting Punjab Assembly polls on the advice of Mian Nawaz Sharif. 

Nasir Butt who has attained fame through winning damages suits against certain TV channels in British courts recently would join the investigation regarding Judge Arshad Malik, who sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and later apologized for his actions by confessing that he handed the sentence upon the pressure of members of the superior judiciary and he was blackmailed for it.

Incidentally, his confession is available on video recording in which Nasir Butt is also seen. Judge Arshad Malik later died suddenly.
